It could have even been from Spring it was that long ago.
But anyway....

Thankful//for the cooler weather so that some of those cute fall outfits can come out of the closet again.

[Behind the Scenes] Early Summer Fashion with Annie & L

{Co-hosted Fun with Annie of What She Saw....}

We rock those scarves! Oh yes...we do!

Want some fashion fun with Annie & L???
We knew you would....who wouldn't want in on this fun!!
Windy days are great interesting for fashion shoots. Its the new 'in' thing at least we think so.
So we met up for some coffee, as Starbucks can fix a lot of things when shared with a friend.
The number of spiritual conversations the chain of coffee stores must have seen, and the number of worst pickup lines....what a thought.

[The fashion part]
shirt: love culture
scarf: forever 21
jeans: charlotte russe
shoes: dsw

In case you ever wanted to see 'behind the scenes' of taking pictures on a windy day,
you can see the full effects. Annie is one of the best models for putting up with difficult conditions. Plus not to mention the town we were in was having an Art show, so there were hundreds of people crammed into the small downtown area. Awkward for posing right??
Annie did awesome.
Come on....who else could make a scarf flying in your face look cute!!

[The fashion part]
shirt: Old Navy
tank top: Wet Seal
scarf: f21
jeans:aeropostale

Yes, pictures with L usually involves much goofing off & results in lots of silly poses.
Since this is a behind the scenes post, you will actually be able to see them today.
No-one ever gets to see 'behind the scenes' of fashion shoots.
We usually see the perfect shots where people look like models.
(Or rather are airbrushed to the point of no recognition in magazines)
But for every one of those shots, there are ten hilarious ones.

So in an attempt to not put our best foot forward, we bring you the unedited behind the scenes look.
We're keeping it real, ladies.
The scarf look.....for those awkward, fun, silly & awesome summer moments.
On days where it isn't 90 degrees and sunny anyway.

Much Love,

L

Fashion Alert: Stripes are In!

As I was sitting in Starbucks on a Saturday afternoon, I was totally watching people from the window checking out what they were wearing.

As I sipped my iced vanilla latte, I noticed how a lot of girls were wearing stripes.
Like a lot.

They are totally versatile too, for colder summer days in the Midwest. Or the scorching hot days where you just want to head to the beach.

This tankini from Target is definitely the best $20 I ever spent on a swimsuit.
Like seriously, it comes in about four different colors and looks awesome with shorts and by itself.
Plus the halter strap means it doesn't feel like its about the fall off.
Very important selling piece for me.

Plus now that Casey Wiegand has been seen wearing them here & Lisa from Mommas Me Time here....well we know they will take the blog world like a storm ;)

Anyone else have any stripe fashion finds they want to share?

I'm totally into this trend. Even if this photo suggests otherwise ;)

Two Truths & A Lie. Wanna Play?

I couldn't resist linking up with Nicole for this game!! It's one of my favorites, maybe because my life has been so crazy fun for as long as I can remember and I find this game to be easy. Although my main issue is usually that I want to tell all 3 as lies which people think are true ;) So let the fun begin....and link up over at Nicole's site and let me know....cause I totally want to play with you guys!!!

  1. When I was little, I was in love with clowns. I was given a stuffed toy clown just after I was born and even went through a phase of wanting to be a clown when I grew up. I also chose clown carpet for my room which was red with clowns on it, and I LOVED it!
  2. I was homeschooled growing up with my sister. We have many fun memories together just enjoying life and learning through all the bumps.
  3. I have lived in six different countries on three different continents and travelled to all but 2 continents. I have lived a very blessed life and love the one the Lord has given me.

What do you guys think? Know me well enough to know which is the lie.....I'm not sure I think I'm pretty sneaky ;)

Link up guys!!! I totally LOVE this game!!!

Much Love,
L

(Sorry for the overexposure in some of the pictures. We were still working out the kinks with manual settings on the camera.)

reading // Grace for the Good Girl by Emily Freeman. I will just say that it's my third time reading through this book, so it is definitely good. Its on my list of life-changing books in the last 12 months (there's only 3 of them).

'Anything we do to get life and identity outside of Christ is an idol, even service to Christ. He doesn't want my service. He wants me....don't (serve) from behind a martyr's mask of duty or self-righteous obligation.'
{Emily Freeman, GFTGG p.65}

watching // I haven't been watching a lot of TV. Never been one for following many shows. Currently watching make it or break it as I signed up for Netflix trial 2 weeks ago =) Dreaming of gymnastics now and wishing had done it when I was little LOL.

anticipating  // News of where we are moving to. We are definitely moving house in about 3-4 weeks. Unsure if its an out-of-state move or local. Kind of exciting....and a little stressful =)

laughing about //Most of the conversations I have with this girl, this girl & this girl. And some of the hilarious things the kiddos in my life do. The 1 yr-old I watch has started waving goodbye to ppl...its like the most adorable thing ever. Also laughing about the dreams I'm having about heading to the Influence Conference (more on this later in the week). And dying laughing remember some serious kitchen dancing with ponytails......

listening to //Gold by Britt Nichole. This CD has been on repeat in my car. Seriously can't get enough of it! Like my favorite EVER!

eating // We have a packet of Oreos in the house. I think we have mice eating them though ;) Just in case A is reading =)

working on // Clearing out things we don't need before moving. Painting projects. Finishing castle for the Disney princesses with little girl I watch. Making handprint display for one of the mommies. Getting back into a workout routine. More items for my Etsy store (to help fund my way to Influence....again more on this later in the week).

wishing (Praying) // for a job offer for A. To win the giveaway for a free ticket to Influence. Yes, if you haven't yet heard about this conference, I will totally share in a later post. As you can tell, its on my mind A LOT.

Inspired by Much Love, Illy to write today's post. And another attempt at a fashion post. These pics were from May 1st....seriously better than 3 months later though right? =)

Much Love,

L

Fashion Attempt two.

So I realise I totally said my other post was my one & only fashion post.
And seriously I meant it at the time.
But I couldn't ignore the response I had to that post.
There are definitely better bloggers out there just FYI, I'm not pretending to be amazing or anything in any form.
But maybe....and I still mean maybe....I will give this a try.
I don't promise to post regularly or to be particularly helpful with my wardrobe (a lot of my stuff came from different countries).
But I can offer some of my favorite outfits as I wear them (and remember to take pictures of them).
And I still reserve the right to change my mind. Again.
They currently feel a little bit too much 'me' for my liking.....so we shall see if I keep them or not.

My wonderful husband seems to enjoy taking pictures of me since I asked him to be my photographer for these.
I am not the best model lol. You should see our attempts at taking these......
He totally has to tell me how to stand.
But he is so sweet about it & really helpful!!!!
And takes really nice pictures.
We really do all have talents even if they are not what you expect.
However, I can check modelling off my list of possible talents LOL.

Hat: Plato's Closet find.
Shirt: England...but I know Old Navy has similar.
Necklace: My own creation.
Belt: Aeropostale.
Jeans: Aeropostale.
Shoes: Charlotte Russe.

One & Only Fashion Post.

So...I will never be a fashion blogger haha.
If you want to check out a good one see this gal.
I found these pictures when I emptied my camera over the weekend.
They were probably taken in late february.
So yeah...I'm kinda hopeless at this.
Might be my one and only fashion post.
I am not one for spending a lot on my clothes. But thats ok.

So humor me.
This outfit would totally still work in the midwest as the colder weather is lingering.
But that's ok...the humidity is on its way I am sure.

I'm not even sure my boots go with the outfit. But hey....that's my fashion for ya =)
These make me laugh remembering my wonderful hubby telling me how to pose.

Sunglasses: f21
necklace & earrings: England...sorry.
sweater: Old Navy clearance
long sleeve shirt: gap
red top: thrifted
jeans: aeropostale
boots: famous footwear

I will retire after my one and only fashion post I think.
But I reserve the right to change my mind =)
I really like fashion posts, I just might not the girl for them.
Happy Tuesday friends.

Much Love,
L
