WOHH

The Girl Behind The Blog- Around The World
Time limit: Vlogs should be 2-3 minutes long
Introduce yourself and your blog
Briefly tell us where you've traveled (domestically and/or internationally) and what you were doing there.
What do you most look forward to when going on a trip?
If you could hop a plane this second, where would you go and why?

Hey friends!
So its that time again, another fun vlog, another attempt at sticking to the time limit (oops sorry ash!), another awkward 'I'm talking to myself moment.'
I apologize at being late to the party again on this one, schedules have been crazy over here as we have been winding down our frantic (but fun) summer and spending time with family who visited.

I don't know if I will write about a lot of these trips or not. I have been super SUPER blessed to travel to so many places and see God's creation!!

British Family Celebrating the 4th. Say What?

Happy 4th July friends!
I will admit that I like this holiday as it is a wonderful reminder of thankfulness.
This year we have so much to be thankful for. It has been a rough year so far, lots of changes good and bad.
Lots of hurt, laughter and growth.
And this Independence Day, I am thankful I get to spend time with my entire immediate family.
In true Third Culture Kid style we are a British family celebrating time together on American Independence Day? Anyone else find that a little amusing?
But there are Americans in our family now (and the rest of us really aren't that patriotic lol), which will ever increase in number as the years go by I am sure.
So I am thankful to be spending time with family, thankful to be all together in the same country and thankful for the opportunity to live in this country.
(That alone was no small feat.)

Growing up, the country I lived in was always most like my home country.
So for today, I am happy to live here and Celebrate the birthday of the USA.
I am thankful for the ever-increasing number of memories which are being made here.

How are you celebrating friends?

Much Love!

That Time I learned how to Ski.

Hey from the Winter Wonderland!
I wasn't planning on posting but my muscles are super sore from skiing today and my sweet hubby is still going cause he's just a superhero or something =)
So today I got on skis for the first time.
I've been snowboarding before, but never skiing.
Just so happens that the hubby's family all know how to ski as his dad was an instructor.
So A is really good not only at skiing/snowboarding but at teaching it to.
He stuck with me on the bunny hill as I warmed up and learned how to not cross my skis ;)

So I thought I would take a few moments on my wonderful trip away, to share with you the gorgeous views.
And share my thankfulness for some time to ourselves, enjoying being together, away from jobs and with limited distractions.
I realise this does mean I am using the WiFi. But since he is skiing, we felt it was ok.

The stunning hubby and I about to take my first ski down the real slope.
This was after practicing on the bunny hill for a while.
I did wipe out after this picture, but thankfully it wasn't terrible.

Well that's all from me for now.
Maybe some more updates on our amazing trip when I get home.
We have a Jacuzzi in our suite! Amazing for those sore muscles, I tell ya!

Much Love,
L

Family Vacation at the Lake.

A and I just returned from a really fun family vacation at the lake.
I am pretty sure your extended family is not as big as A's is.
But they are crazy fun.

A week of sleeping in a cabin, playing tons of volleyball (no joke it feels like vball camp), sailing, tubing, attempts at water skiing and just hanging out with people we don't see very often.

So I thought I would share with you guys a few pictures of what we have been up to this past week.
Kind of explains why I haven't replied to any emails, comments or tweets lately.
But I'm trying to get to them all don't worry.

It has been such a fun week of relaxing, having fun, spending time with family and treasuring new friendships.
I caught up on reading some books which have been on my reading list for a while.
I also felt the Lord speaking to me throughout the week about a particular topic which I plan on sharing with you later in the week, but as usual I'm nervous as its going to be a continued area of learning I'm sure.

I also have to brag a little about the awesome guy that won a family sailing race, yes that would be my wonderful hubby.
He is an awesome hottie I tell ya.

Oh and a hilarious story for you.
I hesitantly decided to try water skiing for the first time.
Yes. Gulp.
Me in the middle of the lake.
So a few of us head out early in the morning while the lake is smooth, my SIL takes her turn and a cousin has hers.
Then its my turn. I pray for safety.
I actually got into the middle of the lake. (wearing a lifevest don't worry
Then I'm situated with the skis on. And the boat won't start.
No really.....nothing.
I'm drifting out from the boat and trying hard not to freak out. LOL.
Then we decide it's better to pull me back in and start paddling back to the shore.
Then next hr and a half consists of us pushing a boat. (Full of 28 gallons of gas I might add)
But praise the Lord, there was no wind, and we were directly next to the camp (just maybe a mile or so out). And several people saw us and brought kayaks out to help.
So anyway....I still haven't tried water skiing.
But hey, it was an adventure right?

Anyway I need to head out and make spaghetti for dinner before A gets home from work.
Enjoy the pictures.

What have you been thankful for this week?

Much Love,
L
