Stitch Fix #5

Item one: Pixley Gonzalez Double Strap Button-Front Tank
Item Two: 31 Bits Pike Layered Cylinder Bead Necklace
Item Three: Ark n Co Bellatrix Embroidered Detail Maxi Dress
Item Four: Loveappella Odela Tie-Dye Chevron Maxi Skirt
Item Five: Skies are Blue Meia Woven Mixed Print Moto Jacket

Everytime that little box of joy arrives, we have another amazing evening planning outfits and taking pictures together. I'm beginning to love these Stitch Fix boxes for that reason alone!
Never tried Stitch Fix before? You really should.
You pay a $20 styling fee per fix (box of 5 items), a personal stylist picks out what she thinks you will like based on things you tell them you like & any pinterest board links you give them. Your $20 can then be used towards keeping an item or you can send them all back (free shipping both ways).

I love it because I always end up trying on clothes that I would never normally pick up in the store and usually find that I fall in love with things I don't normally like.
Plus for me its been great to invest in a few more expensive items that I know I can dress up at a minutes notice.

This time I asked for a long skirt for our upcoming trip (which I kept) and an Aztec sweater, I really wasn't a fan of this one, I felt it seemed too much like a carpet?? But I did find one I liked from f21.

Plus my greatest joy in the box is always the styling cards which show you how to dress up the items with things you probably already have in your closet.

You should give it a try and tell me what you think.

Much Love!

Stitch Fix #4

I apologize for the delay, these were from May as you probably guessed from how pale I look in the pictures. Yikes!

My hubby is definitely the sweetest, he takes pictures of me whenever that little box of joy arrives. And we have a blast doing it!

Stitch Fix #3

Item 1: Purple 41 Hawthorn Dolman Jersey Top

Well, its hit that time of year again. The whimsical magical Christmas season has passed and we are in the thick of the snow, ice and polar vortex craziness here in the Midwest. Its been cold you guys, cold. So if you are in warmer places, like Florida or California, I am totally jealous of you right now.

But in order to embrace winter (or at least try), I decided to order a little bundle of clothing (otherwise known as a fix) from Stitch Fix. In the past it has been super fun to use it as an excuse to hang out with the hubby while he takes pictures (and I freeze to death!). We had a blast last winter here & this past summer here. He's getting pretty good at taking pictures for me you guys!

So anyway, as requested from the sneek peek I posted on Instagram....here are the pictures of the five items sent to me by my lovely stylist. Take a guess at which ones I kept ;) I will reveal in the comments in a few days :)

Item 2: Mystree Skylar Asymmetrical Knit Zip Up Jacket

Item 3: Mystree Tancy Stripe & Colorblock Cotton Cardigan

Then we decided to move inside to take the remaining 2 outfit pictures, as it was pretty insanely cold outside to be taking pictures. Although I do love the snow falling & in the background :)

Item 4: Margaret Ariel Trousers

Item 5 was: Just Black Adora Skinny Jean (These are actually not the same pair of pants, these are a pair I own in the same color as the ones I got didn't fit)

Well, I was pretty happy with the fun that this little box brought me & my hubby. We had a blast putting together outfits and taking pictures again. And since I had some Christmas money to spend, it was fun picking out some things to keep too. I really love Stitch Fix every once in a while as they totally send me things I wouldn't normally even try on. And almost everytime when I try things on, I end up keeping something totally different than I thought I would as some things end up looking so different than I thought they would.

You totally should look into it anyway.....It's winter & it's something fun to do :)

Much Love!

A Date Night of Sorts.

Hey friends.

I couldn't resist taking a moment today to share several funnier pictures from a photoshoot that took place with my hubby.
I shared a post about my second stitch fix here.
Also mentioning how much fun we had, almost like an impromptu date, there was lots of laughter, lots of images which didn't turn out and an evening of memories as my sweet A graciously took pictures for me to share of the five items I received in the mail.

So when my sweet friend Katie wrote last week about a linkup she was starting to encourage creativity by asking us to linkup with a photoshoot. I totally wanted to jump right in and join her.

So here are some of the sillier images from that day and the fun we had hanging out together.

I may be ordering another fix from Stitch Fix soon, just so we can enjoy another spontaneous date evening again.

Katie shared these words by Edith Shaeffer,

"Man has the capacity both for responding and producing,
for communicating as well as being inspired.
It is important to respond to the art of others,
as well as to produce art oneself.
It is important to inspire others to be creative
as well as to communicate by one's own creative arts"

Love it.

Maybe you will join?
Let me know if you linkup, I can't wait to see everyone's creative photos.

Stitch Fix #2

Since trying Stitch Fix back in the middle of winter, see here for the first fix.
I had wanted to try it again, as even though my budget just didn't fit with keeping anything the first time....A and I had a blast spending time together doing a little photoshoot when the package arrived.

So we thought we would do it again. And this time I even ended up keeping two items as they were more my budget. I found this kind of funny as at first glance, I hated everything in the box. Then as I tried them on and had A help me with styling..(You guys, He is an incredible stylist and photographer...who would have known lol!)...well I discovered I actually really liked these items.

They were all easily paired with jeans for smart casual and could even be dressed up for nicer looking outfits when the occasion arises. So I ended up loving them! :)

I was going to post when the package arrived and ask for input however things have continued to be crazy, so I only just now got around to editing and posting these pictures.

So guess you'll have to guess instead....

Hint: Item #5 was a necklace which I only tried on once and just really wasn't something I liked at all. So sorry no cute pictures of the necklace.

Which two do you think I kept?? ;)

Much Love!

P.S. Click link below if you're ready to give Stitch Fix a try. It may end up being a ton of fun just taking pictures....just sayin' ;)

Pearls & Tunes Vol 15.

'The clothes we wear are what people see. Only God can look on the heart.
The outward signs are important. They reveal something of what is inside.
If charity is there, it will become visible outwardly, but if you have no charitable feelings,
you can still obey the command. Put it on as simply and consciously as you put on a coat.
You choose it; you pick it up; you put it on. This is what you want to wear.'
~ Elisabeth Elliott

Little different today with a quote I'm loving instead of a song.
I don't know about you friends, but I am ready for Spring. The cold howling winds and snow flurries can be so fun. But I am pretty much at the end of being able to find the joy in the cold cold winter days.
But its almost the end of February, so no fear right? Spring is almost here!
So I've been heading out in the snow with the hubby for photoshoots in the snow, going for walks and glimpsing beauty in the middle of the hard season like the berries above.
I'm determined to keep seeing these
even though I'm desperate for a new season.
Trying to enjoy every season and stop always wanting whatever the next season will bring.
He is good ALL the time.

Much Love,
L

Pearls & Tunes Vol 14.

Dress: Thrifted from Platos, Cardigan: Old Navy, Necklace: StitchFix,
Leggings: Kohls, Boots: Old Navy, Nails: Essie, Cami layered underneath: Old Navy

Definitely used this song before, but can't deny these lyrics spoke strongly
to me today.

'So don't let anybody tell you that you're not loved
And don't let anybody tell you that you're not enough
Yeah there are days when we all feel like we're messed up
But the truth is that we're all diamonds in the rough
So don't be ashamed to wear your crown
You're a king you're a queen inside and out
You glow like the moon, you shine like the stars
This is for you, wherever you are'
~ Britt Nicole, Gold ~

Much Love,
