Flip Flop Tan lines make me ridiculously happy.

The many reasons why I love summer. Anyone agree?

  1. The flip flop tan lines. I can't help but admire them.
  2. My hair dries so fast....its AMAZING. Air-dries.
  3. Little kids wandering round in just a diaper. SO adorable it almost hurts.
  4. Hanging outside & taking pictures. Everything looks prettier in the sun.
  5. My pretty little painted toes (they are painted in the winter too) get to see the outside world.
  6. Naturally highlighted hair.
  7. New bathing suits from Target. Awesome.
  8. The beach. no explanation necessary.
  9. Energy. For some reason I have more of it in the summer.
  10. Weddings. Goodness im becoming more & more sentimental about them.
  11. Iced water from starbucks. Totally the classy way to hydrate oneself.
  12. No leggings or tights required for dressy wedding outfits.
  13. Dreaming of Paris. (BTW europe has more of an appeal....I think im truly becoming an american....this is TOO funny)
  14. iced vanilla lattes. (no explanation given, needed or should be expected.)
  15. Ice cream....or specifically frozen custard. Yum.
  16. Tanned skin. As much as my british snow white complexion can be fun....there's something about being tanned that I LOVE. I think i'm a vitamin D addict.
  17. Berry picking. So berry fun. (couldnt resist)
  18. Dancing in the car with the windows down....hair blowing in the wind.
  19. These nude heels I found in payless shoes. Aren't they amazing.
  20. Longer hours of daylight. Getting up early in the morning is SO much easier compared to ice & snow and darkness.
  21. Being able to go for long bike rides either during the day or in the evening with A. I love being outdoors.
  22. Volleyball. So much fun.
  23. Sunglasses. And the way they are permanently a part of everyday outfits. So much so that usually by the end of the summer, I have tan lines from them. (Not liking this part so much!)
  24. Forgetting to grab a sweater when leaving the house first thing in the morning, then remembering that its warm out and you don't need it.
  25. Remembering that the snow is probably 6 months away. yipppeeeee.

For these reasons, I'm seriously considering declaring myself a westcoast girl. Summer just makes me too happy....it should be a year-round thing.

Leave me a comment and tell me what your reason for enjoying summer is.

Much Love,
L

P.S. I may just be wanting an iphone because I want to use Instagram so badly. I even downloaded the app onto my ipod touch, but don't use it. Sigh. Anyone want to buy me one with a free plan ;)?

'Two Hearts In Love' Thursdays. [Color Palette: Blue & Orange]

Hey beautiful ladies,  I assume no guys read these posts (But hey to you if you do).
So I took a week off last week from the wedding planning series, hope no-one minded too much.
I have been trying to be consistent in these posts just in case anyone is finding them really helpful.
I hope that is the case.

Its been a few weeks since I did a color palette, so I thought I would use today to add another one.
These are two colors I would have never put together, but they are simply stunning!
I love hearing what colors people have chosen when they are planning a wedding.
Its almost wedding season (summer) for us....we have at least four we are attending this year. We are going to have to miss out on several as they dont fit with travel plans.
A&I are also going to be in the wedding party of one this summer too.
My beautiful sister is getting married.....not till Sept though =)
So anyway.....
hope you find inspiration in the pins.
Even if these aren't your colors, remember ideas are totally transferrable to other colors.

Much Love,
L

P.S. Great Tip: Make sure you get a swatch of the exact shade you are using (maybe from somewhere like David's Bridal) and match everything to the exact shade, or you might end up with a lot of different shades.

I'm in love with fashion, Friday.

Who doesn't love friday.
Especially when you know that the weekend is wide open for fun things with the hubby.
This might be our first relaxing weekend this month.
Crazy.
I plan on enjoying it.

So...a lot of these remind me of the fashion style in Oxford (yes, the real one in England).
Maybe some of it rubbed off on me =)

I am SO in LOVE with all flower hair accessories (and hairbands) currently.
If you make any awesome ones you would like me to try or know of any....let me know =)

These two picture got the preppy elegant look down =)
Love it!

Would love to have this outfit.
So great if working or going out =)
Super cute, feminine and dressy.

This make me SUPER HAPPY.....I never know what to do with my hair.
Althoug hI couldn't pull off half of these well....they help me try and attempt to do something creative with my hair.

This is more my usual style =)

This is great as spring is approaching and I can pull out my light scarves again =)
Yay for Spring!!!
(As the snowstorm makes its way across)
Almost.

Much Love,
L

'Two Hearts In Love' Thursdays. [Flowers]

For our wedding, I decided that I wanted to use a combination of silk and real flowers.
This is a part of the wedding which can get pretty expensive.
If you have a large budget, then by all means you might be able to afford gorgeous real flowers for everyone.
We chose to tighten the budget in this area and spend the money on other areas.

My own bouquet was real, as were the Boutonnières for the guys, flowers for our parents & grandparents.
We ordered those from a florist in the area (we shopped around).
We chose pretty simple flowers for this, so I was not worried at all at the way they would turn out.

For the bridesmaids...I found a whole bunch of silk flowers on clearance in a Joanns which was in liquedation. I can't remember what I paid for them....but it was minimal.
The flowers were so nice, everyone was stunned they were not real.
The best part, my bridesmaid who all had to travel (some across the world - no joke) were able to keep their beautiful flowers and take them home.

If you do want real flowers, very important to remember what will be in season when you get married.
You can guarentee if you order flowers out of season for your bouquet - you will end up spending
A LOT more money than those which are easily available.

Also...think about your color schemes. I'm sure this is obvious.
If you have 2 colors already, go with those when picking flowers.
It will tie together your colors really nicely.
Check out some pictures below to see what I mean.

Another tip given to me by my hair stylist (haha).
Make sure you have a vase at your reception so you can put your bouquet down & keep it looking good.
You can buy these really cheap from the dollar store and they look great on the head table, while you enjoy the party as a married couple.

These are stunning! What amazing colors!

Adding the twig-like parts really add a natural look to the bouquet.

Beautiful Fall colored flowers.

These are one of my favorites. They are simple stunning flowers!

Adding a unique touch by having the bridemaids carry pinwheels. So sweet.

Loving the simplicity of these flowers. So understated but gorgeous!

In Love with this necklace & flower combination!

For the unique look again....
So beautiful!
Isn't it great how many types of beautiful flowers the Lord made friends!
Just because He could, I am sure He loves beautiful things =)
Happy Planning!
